Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is a Government organization that recruits staff for various posts in the various Ministries and Departments of the Government of India and in Subordinate Offices.
SSC broadly conducts two types of examinations.
- SSC CGL exam
- SSC Combined Matric Level Examination i.e. SSC 10+2
Overview :-
The Examination is conducted in 4 tiers, which are:–
- Tier 1 (Preliminary Exam)
- Tier 2 (Mains)
- Tier 3 (Descriptive)
- Tier 4 (DEST⁄CPT)
SSC CGL Tier–1 Exam

Time Allowed: – 2 hours (2 hours and 40 minutes for VH candidates)
Paper Mode: – Exam will be conducted offline and questions will be of objective type multiple choice. Candidates can choose their medium as Hindi or English.
Negative Marking: – 0.25 Marks will be deducted for every wrong answer.
SSC CGL Tier-II Exam
Tier-II – Written Examination (Objective Multiple Choice Type): Tier-II exam is conducted over a period of two days. The written exam will consist of objective-type papers of 2 hours for all and 2 hours 40mins for visually handicapped.

SSC CGL Tier III

- It is compulsory for all the posts.
- The qualifying marks in Tier–III would be 33 per cent.

- Data Entry skills test is only for post of Tax assistant.

Eligibility:-
Educational Qualification
- For the post of Compiler: Bachelors degree from any recognized university with Economics⁄Statistics⁄Mathematics as compulsory or elective subject.
- For the post of Statistical Investigator Grade – II: Bachelors degree in any discipline from a recognized University with:
At least 60% in Mathematics at 12th Standard level OR Statistics as one of the subjects at degree level. - For all other posts: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized University or any other equivalent qualification.
